Medical Disclaimer

Important limitations of PriviHealth digital consultations, educational content, prescriptions, testing, and delivery services.

Effective Date

July 1, 2025

IMPORTANT: PriviHealth is not an emergency service and does not replace emergency care, hospital care, or an in-person physical examination when one is needed.

01Purpose and Scope

This Medical Disclaimer applies to the PriviHealth website, telemedicine services, consultations, educational content, prescriptions, laboratory referrals, test kits, medication delivery, and related communications.

PriviHealth provides doctor-led digital health support for sexual health concerns. The information and services available through the platform are intended to support clinical discussion and practical next steps, not to replace all forms of medical care.

02Not an Emergency Service

PriviHealth is not designed for emergencies, severe symptoms, or immediately life-threatening situations.

  • Chest pain, difficulty breathing, fainting, confusion, severe allergic reaction, heavy bleeding, severe pain, sudden neurological symptoms, serious injury, or other emergency symptoms require urgent in-person care.
  • Possible HIV exposure within 72 hours may require urgent assessment for PEP. Seek prompt medical care and do not delay if time is critical.
  • If you are currently unsafe or in danger, contact local emergency support immediately.
If you experience a medical emergency, immediately call 119 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room. Do not wait for a PriviHealth response.

03Telemedicine Limitations

Digital consultations have inherent limits because the doctor may not be able to examine you physically, perform procedures, or directly observe all clinical signs.

  • A chat-based consultation may be insufficient for some symptoms or conditions.
  • A Partner Doctor may recommend in-person examination, laboratory testing, imaging, specialist care, or hospital assessment.
  • Advice given through PriviHealth depends on the information available at the time of consultation.
  • Clinical guidance may change if new symptoms, test results, medication history, or other health information becomes available.

04No Guaranteed Outcomes

A PriviHealth consultation does not guarantee a diagnosis, prescription, PrEP, PEP, refill, test referral, test kit, delivery, or any specific medical outcome.

  • Prescriptions are issued only when a Partner Doctor determines they are medically appropriate.
  • PrEP, PEP, antibiotics, antivirals, erectile dysfunction medication, HIV medication refills, and other treatments depend on clinical eligibility, timing, safety, availability, and applicable regulations.
  • Laboratory referrals and test recommendations depend on the doctor's assessment and the limits of available partner services.
  • Delivery availability, timing, and successful completion depend on partner pharmacy and logistics operations.

05Your Responsibilities

Safe digital care depends on complete, honest, and timely information from you.

You are responsible for telling the Partner Doctor about:

  • Your symptoms, exposure timing, and reason for consultation
  • Current and past medical conditions
  • All medications, supplements, allergies, and previous reactions
  • Recent test results, diagnoses, treatments, and prescriptions
  • Pregnancy possibility, breastfeeding, or other relevant health circumstances
  • Any worsening, severe, or urgent symptoms that may require in-person care
Incomplete or inaccurate information can affect the safety and accuracy of medical advice, prescriptions, testing decisions, and referrals.

06Medications and Testing

Medication and testing decisions must be individualized by a licensed clinician and may require monitoring, follow-up, or in-person care.

Medication Limits

  • Do not start, stop, share, change, or combine medications without medical advice.
  • Medication side effects, interactions, contraindications, and monitoring needs vary by person.
  • Prescription refills require a new clinical review and may require recent test results or referral to in-person care.

Testing Limits

  • A negative test may not rule out infection if testing occurs during a window period.
  • Some results require confirmatory testing, repeat testing, or specialist follow-up.
  • Test availability, turnaround time, sample requirements, and reporting processes may vary by partner laboratory.

07Educational Content

Website, blog, FAQ, social, and other educational content is general information and is not personalized medical advice.

  • Educational content may not reflect your individual symptoms, history, test results, medications, allergies, risk factors, or local service availability.
  • You should not rely on general content as a substitute for a consultation with a licensed doctor or other qualified healthcare professional.
  • Medical knowledge and regulations can change. Content may be updated from time to time.

08Third-Party Services

PriviHealth may coordinate with partner doctors, laboratories, pharmacies, delivery partners, payment processors, and technical providers, each with their own operational limits.

  • Partner laboratories are responsible for their testing processes, sample handling, result timing, and laboratory quality controls.
  • Partner pharmacies are responsible for dispensing medications according to applicable standards and availability.
  • Delivery partners are responsible for logistics handling, delivery timing, and delivery-area limitations.
  • Payment and technical providers may have their own service interruptions, verification requirements, or processing delays.
